Malaysian Olympic Swimmer Cindy Ong Joins ReSkills EdTech as new Vice President of Global Partnerships

The five-time world champion athlete (Malaysian Olympic Swimmer Cindy Ong) will assist the educational platform to build and manage quality international collaborations.


PETALING JAYA: Leading subscription-based online learning education platform ReSkills EdTech proudly announces the appointment of Cindy Ong, celebrated national swimmer and coach, to its team as their new Vice President of Global Partnerships.

Most Malaysians may know Ong for her prowess in the pool, but the talented athlete has also gained extensive experience in the education sector. Ong holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology & Sociology from Drury University in the United States, and previously worked at the Supplementary Education Services department of The Princeton Review in New York.

As Vice President of Global Partnerships, Ong will be responsible for fostering, managing, and expanding ReSkills’ strategic relationships across international markets. “Reskilling has the power to transform lives by opening doors to new opportunities and empowering individuals to thrive in a rapidly evolving world,” said Ong.

Through Cindy Ong Education (COE) initiatives, learners can receive ReSkills subscription sponsorship. Ong believes ReSkills’ state-of-the-art programs can be instrumental in assisting people to reskill and upskill their lives.

Ong stated that she is committed to supporting ReSkills in her new role while continuing her swimming, which remains an irreplaceable part of her life.

ABOUT MALAYSIAN OLYMPIC SWIMMER CINDY ONG

Cindy Ong Pik Yin has been a Malaysian competitive swimmer since 1989. She was named Perak’s Sportswoman of the Year in 2005. Among her achievements are winning six gold medals at the 2004 Sukma Games, and five golds and two silvers at the 2019 FINA World Masters Championship in Gwangju, South Korea.

In 2019, Ong was recognised by The Malaysia Book of Records for the Most Gold Medals Won by an Individual Swimmer in a World Masters Championship (Female).

She is also a certified swimming instructor under the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM). Ong works with students of all ages who are committed to growing their performance, no matter what their level may be.
